US comedian Maria Bamford revealed on Thursday her unique solution to crying babies in the audience, after Arj Barker sparked a backlash over ejecting a breastfeeding mother out of his Melbourne Comedy Festival show.

The California native, 53, who is touring Australia in July, has admitted she will outright pay disruptive audience members cash to leave her show so she can continue to perform uninterrupted.

'I'm about customer service. I will pay you to leave if you seem to be extremely uncomfortable. I carry cash on stage, it will be American cash,' she told news.com.au.

'I don't know what the dollar's worth. I've heard it's strong right now, so you might win out in the end. It's a limited amount of cash though, so you have to get in early.'

She also recommended people do their research on her comedy style before purchasing tickets, to ensure they were not disappointed.

'If you go to see a comedy show then Google it before you go out. Why put yourself through that pain and suffering?'

Maria will be performing her latest acclaimed stand-up comedy special across Australia in July.

It comes after comedian Arj Barker sparked a huge backlash over ejecting a breastfeeding mother out of his Melbourne Comedy Festival show last month.

Arj later responded to the backlash over him ejecting mother-of-three Trish Faranda from his Melbourne Comedy Festival show by making a peace offering to the breastfeeding mother he asked to leave, but said he also stands by his decision.

Ms Faranda claimed that she was humiliated and reduced to tears when she and  her seven-month-old daughter Clara were booted from the theatre.

She claimed Clara 'had a bit of a whinge' before she gave her a feed, with Arj asking her to leave about 15 minutes into the gig because they were 'disrupting his show'.

However, Arj said that baby Clara should not have been at his over-15s show in the first place.

But he also apologised to Ms Faranda for the embarrassment caused and made a light-hearted attempt to make amends.

'I hope you're doing okay. I'm sorry that that was a difficult situation, and I would like to make peace. Also, to the beautiful baby who I have nothing against, I want to offer that little child a ticket to my show post-dated 2039,' he told Sunrise.

He went on to admit that it was an unfortunate and tricky situation for everyone involved.
